We offer Mini Judo, Judo, Self Defence: A great way to teach young children the importance of :
1. discipline 2. strength 3. self-defence.

Many psychologists recommend judo to young children whom are:
1. hyperactive 2. children that suffer from ADD 3. children with disabilities.

Club training times are as follows: Ages 4-8 at 17h15 - 18h00 and Ages 9 & older at 18h00 - 19h00
Japanese words can be quite tricky, so here's a list of the basic words you will need to know to understand what's going on in a class:
a-JI-me: start
GI: judo suit
IP-pon: you win the fight (10 points)
KO-ka: three points
ma-TE: stop
o-se-ko-mi (note that this spelling is probably wrong): hold-down

ta-TA-me: judo mat
YU-ko: five points
wa-ZA-ri: seven points

How to count in Japanese (spelled the way you say the numbers):  Itch, knee, sun, she, goo, rook, sitch, hutch, que, ju.

Reach for a Dream in Association with Atlas and MJ's Judo Academy made 12 young boys with terminal illness's dreams come true by having a "Captain Courageous" day where they did JUDO, learnt some CPR techniques and how to cuff the bad guys as well as watched a show on protection training by one of the Atlas dogs.

As in all sports, Judo has a strict set of rules that governs competition and ensures safety. For those who want to test their skills, Judo offers the opportunity for competition at all skill levels, from club to national tournaments, to the Olympic Games. There are separate weight divisions for men and women, and boys and girls.
